Happy Memorial Day

First of all I would like to say thank you to all the men and women who have fought or are fighting for our freedom each and everyday.  Thank you to the families of the fallen heroes that once shared their loved ones lives so that our country could be free.  Too often we take for granted that we can worship a mighty God freely and choose how and where we worship.  (Other countries just aren't that nice) We are so truly blessed to live in a country such as the United States yet each day we can find something to complain about.  Stop this Memorial Day and thank a service man or woman for your freedom!  They truly deserve it!!

On a lighter note...I love sharing little stories that Landon creates.  He is truly a mess.  So let me give you a little background on this story.  We as a family have decided to make Covenant our home church after going to Potter's Wheel for some time.  We decided that the drive to Potter's Wheel would be a little much once Luke came into this world.  For the longest time Landon would say that he wanted to go to Potters Wheel every morning on the way to Covenant and Bobby would explain every time why we chose to go to another church.  After about two months he gave up on trying to get us back to Potter's Wheel and I haven't thought anymore of it.  Well Mrs. Shirley was talking to Landon and asked him did he know what Memorial Day was for.  He replied, "No" so she explained that Memorial Day was to honor our fallen servicemen that had fought for our freedom.  Landon replied what is freedom?  Mrs. Shirley explained that freedom is when we have a choice and are free to do something.  She gave him the example that we were free to choose what church we wanted to go to and Landon quickly stopped her.  He said, "That's not right Grandma because Daddy want let me go to Potter's Wheel!!!"  It is amazing how quick a four year old catches on to things!!!

Since we all had Monday off for Memorial Day Grandma and Grandaddy decided to have a cookout.  You can't have a cookout without hamburger, hot dogs, watermelon, and some pool action.  So we had them all!!!
Landon and Grandaddy making sure that they get their moneys worth out of their Watermelon
MMM....MMM....MMMM
Landon made him a homemade raft out of the whale slide.  He trying to paddle upstream in his swimming pool!
Just chillin'waiting on the hot dogs and hamburgers to get done!

Blue Angels

Grandaddy Steve has been wanting to take Landon to the airshow in Havelock to see the Blue Angels. For those of you (including myself) that don't know who the Blue Angels are I'll give you a little background. The Blue Angels' mission is to enhance Navy and Marine Corps recruiting efforts and to represent the naval service to the United States. The Blue Angels serve as positive role models and goodwill ambassadors for the U. S. Navy and Marine Corps. They do over 60 air shows a year and over 8 million people get to see their daring stunts performed. Along with the airshow and other air performers the army base offered all types of their army machines and equipment that the kids could climb on and explore. Landon and Peyton had a great time crawling in and out of the trucks and watching the airplanes perform all kind of tricks. They weren't real big on the loader planes but we had earplugs to lessen the noise. Below are a few pictures of our day. Blue Angels airplane that they were using to take pictures in

Landon on an army tank with the soldiers

Grandaddy wanted to get in on the fun so he jumped in the army truck with Landon to scope out things

Here is a picture that I took of how close the Blue Angels fly together. One little mistake and they are all going down!

If you look closely the #1 and #4 planes are upside down. Pretty amazing!

Here are some of the other performers

Landon's Graduation

I can't believe it!! Landon graduated from preschool Saturday. It is so amazing how fast your children grow up right before your very eyes. Bright Beginnings really put on a cute show. They used a outdoors theme which is right up Landon's alley. All the songs that were sung by the kids correlated with the outdoors and the graduating class all cited different poems that had an outdoors theme as well. I was so proud of Landon. He was first in line to say his poem and he did it so well. I could tell he was a little nervous by the way he was twitching in his chair and biting the inside of his mouth but that did not stop him at all. Here is the poem that he memorized for his part. It was so cute!!

When I go fishing down at the brook

I put a wiggly worm on my hook

I toss it into the water and hope with all my might

that a fish will take a great big bite

After the singing and reciting of poems the graduates were in the spotlight for one last time. Each one of them walked in the church one by one with their light blue cap and gowns to receive their diploma. I can't even begin to tell you how I felt watching my once "little" Landon walk down that church isle to receive his diploma. He had the cutest smile painted on his face. After each one received their diploma Mrs. Melanie sang a song to the class that made us all cry a few tears. All I can remember her singing was "Let them be little" and thinking how fast he is growing up. Kindergarden is already almost here. Before we know it he will be graduating from high school! Landon waiting to go up to the microphone to say his poem. You can see his twitching a little in this pictures. He looks just like his Daddy!!

Get me outta this thing! I wanted to get some more pictures but you see how well that went over.

Landon sure is going to miss Boman. They have been together ever since Landon has been at Bright Beginnings. He will be going to Kindergarden next year.

Landon says that he is going to marry Rachel when he gets big. Wanted to make sure I had a picture of his future wife on record.

Landon popped up out of his seat so quickly that I missed part of his poem. Here is what I was able to capture!

Luke Allen 2 months Old

Time has flown because Luke Allen is already 2 months old!
A little about Luke Allen
*I weighed 9 lbs 12 oz. at my two month doctor visit (Im a little smaller than my brother at 2 months old)
*21 inches long
*I am starting to smile a little. Mommy still can't wait til I start smiling at everything that she does.
*I love swinging in my swing and/or being held. My brother pushed me too hard the other day and made me cry. I'll get him back one day!
*Still not sleeping through the night. I am trying to stretch the time between feedings but they are not consistant.
*I don't start daycare until next month so My Daddy and Grandma Shirley have had to keep me during the day. I am really good for them because I still like to sleep, eat, and poop for the majority of the day.
*I had my first little cold this past week. I wasn't feeling my best but I was still a good boy.

* I love to make my serious face when Mommy tries to talk to me. She is so silly when she talks to me!

Here I am in my nap nanny that Grandma Sue Sue bought me.

Bath time is not my favorite. I can deal with the bath but not so much when Mommy takes me out.

Mothers Day at the River

This year we celebrated Mother's Day and Bobby & Michelle's Birthday down at the river. I can't think of any better way to spend Mother's day than with my Mother and my family. I am truly blessed to have such an awesome family that I love spending time with.
MAMA: Thank you for making me who I am today, for always believing in me when I doubted myself and for being you! I couldn't ask for a more loving mother. I love you very much and Happy Mother's Day!!
LANDON & LUKE: I am so Proud to be the Mother of the two most precious boys in the WORLD. I thank God for each day that I wake up and have the chance to spend with each of you. I look forward to that next special moment with you. You will always be my two shining stars!
MRS SHIRLEY: To my second Mom. I could have never asked for a better Mother-in-Law. You have been there for me through thick and thin and somehow we always manage to make it! Thank you for all that you do for me and the family! We love you!
Here are a few pictures from our last two River trips. Hope you enjoy! Connor can hang with the big boys! Luke is right behind him!

First T-Ball Game Fun!

Landon's T-Ball games have begun and coming from a proud Mama I think Landon is the best player on the team! He really has a desire to be the best and his practicing with Mom and Dad at home has sure paid off. I loved every minute of his first game. Those kids are so cute trying to hit and catch the t-ball after it is hit into the field. You just have to smile at their effort! I got butterflies in my belly at Landon's first up to bat because I wanted him to smack the ball like he does at home. I already have that competitiveness spirit and he is only four!! Can't imaging myself in a couple of years. Here is some pictures of his first game. Landon waiting in the dugout for his turn to bat.
Smile...You know Mama has got to get her little all star in his baseball outfit before he gets all dirty

Landon playing shortstop and getting ready to stop the ball

Landon at third base ready to run to home base
Run..Run..Run...Landon!!!
Good game guys! Landon shaking the other teams hands for a job well done!
I can't wait til his next game. Posted by Picasa
